Abstract
  • In partnership with Parkview Randallia, I have designed the Continuum of Care resource to advocate and highlight occupational therapy’s role in rehabilitation for amputees. Created through an occupational therapy lens, this resource includes valuable resources and evidence-based material to support amputees as they transition from acute care into the community. Included in the resource is an activity program that provides detailed steps and tips to support amputees as they return to participating in meaningful activities. Together, the Continuum of Care resource and activity program aim to increase amputees’ health and well-being through participation in meaningful activities. Additionally, an evidence-based curriculum was created to supplement the Continuum of Care resource. The curriculum is intended to be used as an educational resource providing individuals such as healthcare practitioners, caretakers, and students with a deeper explanation of occupational therapy's role in amputee rehabilitation. Altogether, the Continuum of Care resource educates, motivates, and supports all stakeholders involved in providing the best care for amputees.
