Abstract
  • Project Description: The scope of this doctoral capstone project includes the design of an instructional training program for paraprofessionals in effective strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs, help create a solid knowledge foundation, and prepare for job-related tasks. Additionally, the project includes creation of educational materials for paraprofessionals to easily reference throughout the school day to guide educational participation. Feedback was gathered via survey from OT practitioners, resource teachers, speech-language pathologists, and school service providers to establish a collaborative approach and need for instructional approaches. Instructional training and educational resources created will consist of evidence-based approaches and practices.
