Abstract
  • This project was targeting occupational therapy practice surrounding infants and children with neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) in West Virginia. This project aimed to provide accessible resources for caregivers and occupational therapy practitioners surrounding NAS. When looking at how infants and children are affected as they age, pre-learning and learning skills are often delayed. Cognitive and language development, as well as school performance, social, and motor domains, are areas of concern in children with NAS (Arter et al, 2021; Fucile et al., 2021). Topics addressed in these resources included play, feeding, sleep, the sensory system, types of exposure, updated statistics, and learning.
